# Recipes

Open **Production**, then **Recipes**. A recipe defines what a preparation consumes, and what it can produce.

Open a recipe to see its versions. A recipe with no versions yet shows an empty versions list.

Archiving a recipe hides it from the default list. You can still find it when you turn on **Show archived only**.

On **Sales**, then **Products**, a menu item can be linked to a production recipe or to a single inventory item. Clear that link to leave the product unmapped. Unmapped products are the ones a sale cannot yet deplete from stock through a recipe or item.
